The 2025/26 season has been a difficult one for FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi, who has struggled with another injury problem.
The La Masia graduate, one of the most beloved members of the team, has been out of action since September, having had to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee due to a meniscus issue.
Given that he was sidelined with an ACL injury not very long ago, Barcelona have been very cautious with the young Spaniard’s recovery.
Now, as per an exclusive update provided by Adrian Sanchez to Barça Universal, Gavi’s recovery and rehab are progressing according to plans laid out by the Barcelona medical staff.

Previous reports have suggested that Gavi could be back in action by early February. However, Barcelona are clear that they will not take any risks with their ace midfielder.
Things will only move forward when he is at 100% and ready to make a comeback.
Considering his age and recent injury history, it makes sense for Barcelona to err on the side of caution with his return.
After all, Gavi is seen as a future club captain and is a key piece of the tactical setup not only for the present but for the future.
Moreover, Hansi Flick has plenty of options in midfield with Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal, Marc Casado, and even Eric Garcia filling in whenever needed.
As such, Barcelona are taking the right approach with Gavi, allowing his knee to fully heal and him to regain full fitness before thinking about his comeback.
