Barcelona continue to refine their long-term strategy, and the latest internal plan shows a clear focus on youth development.

According to exclusive information received by BARÇA Universal, the club has developed a structured evaluation process to monitor new B team signings before considering them for first-team opportunities.

The idea is simple but strict, as every young arrival will be assessed over time, with their performances, mentality, and tactical growth closely monitored.

Only those who prove they are ready at the required level will be given a pathway towards the senior squad.

The objective is to avoid rushed promotions and ensure that each step in the development ladder is earned.

Recent reinforcements

In recent weeks, Barcelona have reinforced their youth ranks with several new additions. Among them are Patricio Pacifico, Hamza Abdelkarim, and Juwensley Onstein

The club see all three as players with potential, but the message is clear: progress to the first team will depend entirely on performance.

After his arrival was made official, Abdelkarim spoke about his personal goals at the club. Sharing his ambition, he said,

“My ambition is to play for the first team and give my all for this club.”

Each signing has been made with a specific purpose in mind. Pacifico, for example, was recruited because of his versatility.

The youngster is capable of operating as a left-back, a centre-back, or even as a defensive midfielder, making him a valuable option in multiple tactical setups.

Barcelona’s move for Pacifico was not rushed, as the club had tracked him for nearly two years, with a particularly close six-month spell in which his matches were followed almost live.

The final agreement was structured as a loan with an option to buy 80% of his rights, with a maximum payment of €3.8 million. If he develops as expected, the deal could prove to be a bargain.

As such, rather than focusing only on big names, the club is investing in promising youngsters and building a clear pathway for them.

The new development plan ensures that every B team signing is properly evaluated before taking the next step.
