An exclusive report is now claiming that Chelsea are frontrunners to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid.
Yep, sounds far-fetched, right?
And it probably it, unfortunately. But still, anything can happen in this game and we’ve seen many big shocks come around. So let’s get into the story anyway and you can judge for yourselves whether you think it has any chance of happening or not.

Manchester City and Chelsea will be two of the frontrunners in the race for Vinicius Junior if he becomes available, sources have told Football Insider.
The report says that contract talks between Vinicius and Real Madrid have broken down, and this is what would be alerting clubs like City and Chelsea, I assume.
His current deal runs out in the summer of 2027, but he could end up leaving in the summer of 2026 should they not be able to agree a new contract.
But even though he would only have a year left on his contract by that point, the report claims that he would still cost around £80m – so pretty expensive for a player with just one year left on his deal.
I think this is one we can all just breeze on past. I mean, if there is a chance to sign one of the best young wingers in the world, then perhaps every top club would at least take a look at it? But I don’t think Chelsea will be looking to pay big like that on a single player these days, unless they sort some sort of swap deal with Real Madrid of course – then maybe something could happen.
But I don’t see anything in this rumour and it’s really just putting two and two together for now.
