Jon Dahl Tomasson is one of several high-profile candidates linked with a Carrow Road switch
Sky Sports pundit and EFL expert Don Goodman believes that Jon Dahl Tomasson would be one of several high-profile candidates interested in taking up the vacant role as Norwich City boss amid fresh developments.
Norwich have endured the worst possible start to the Championship season, as only Sheffield Wednesday - who have been hit with a 12-point deduction after entering administration following well-documented financial concerns - find themselves in a deeper struggle against relegation to League One at this moment in time.
An accumulation of a measly nine points across 15 league games was enough to warrant a change in the eyes of Mark Attanasio and Ben Knapper, with the duo eventually deciding to relieve Liam Manning from his position at Carrow Road despite previously backing the 40-year-old to eventually turn the club's fortunes around following his summer switch from divisional rivals, Bristol City.
As such, the hunt for a third manager or head coach within the past 18 months in this part of East Anglia is well underway, with the Canaries hierarchy hopeful to have ended their latest managerial search ahead of their upcoming clash with Birmingham City at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park on November 22nd.
The pressure is certainly on Knapper, more than most, to deliver an appointment which will yield a short-term solution and long-term success, with Norwich enduring a torrid time of late since being relegated from the Premier League in 2022.
Speaking exclusively to Football League World, Goodman assessed Tomasson's recent pedigree, as well as debating whether he could stand out from a rather packed crowd.

Such news broke out on Wednesday morning, with John Percy of the Telegraph revealing that the Norwich hierarchy had interviewed the Danish boss over the possibility of taking over at Carrow Road.
The 49-year-old has also been interviewed alongside former City midfielder, Gary O'Neil, after Football League World exclusively revealed on Sunday that the hierarchy had made contact with the former Wolves boss in order to gauge his feelings.
Nick Mashiter of BBC Sport also backed up such claims regarding the ex-Blackburn Rovers boss, as well as reaffirming that Will Still has also been spoken to, just days after he parted company with Southampton after winning just twice in 13 Championship games at St Mary's.
Indeed, Tomasson himself has not long been out of a vacancy, having been in charge of the Swedish national team between February 2024 and last month, before being sacked after a poor start to the side's FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign.
However, he is known within the EFL circle for his time at Ewood Park, during which he delivered a seventh-place finish in his only full season, before quitting weeks before taking on his aforementioned role in rather controversial circumstances.
Speaking to FLW, Goodman began: "I know Jon Dahl Tomasson has been interviewed for the Norwich vacancy, and I can understand why it's a club that would hold an attraction for him.
"I don't think he left Blackburn Rovers on the best of terms," he added. "I think it felt like he engineered a move out.
"But, having said all that, he would be one of a number of candidates.
"Do I think he'd be a good appointment? I thought Russell Martin would be a good appointment at Rangers, I thought Will Still would be a good appointment at Southampton. You just never truly know.
"But, it's an attractive job for somebody, and I understand why he'd be on the list," Goodman explained.

Like any prospective appointment, Tomasson would come with a handful of pros and cons, making it intriguing when assessing what could be possible at Carrow Road should he be handed the vacancy.
Much like the present in Norfolk, supporters in East Lancashire aired the majority of their frustrations towards the hierarchy, who felt their boss wasn't being backed in an appropriate manner.
However, he was able to build on the foundations left by Tony Mowbray, further enhancing the development of Ben Brereton Diaz, Sammie Szmodics and Adam Wharton in the process, with the latter now an England regular.
There is plenty of talent to work with at Carrow Road, and Tomasson, if he is able to emulate such success, would hope he can get Josh Sargent back amongst the goal after a dry period which stretches back to a 2-0 success, ironically against Blackburn on August 30th, which was also the Canaries' last victory.
