Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi is interested in making a return to Serie A, but three top clubs aren’t interested in a deal this summer.
The Argentinian striker was once one of the most dangerous strikers in the Italian topflight, netting 121 goals across 219 league games for Inter and Sampdoria, winning the Capocannoniere title twice. Despite his abilities on the pitch, his life away from football often caused a stir amongst fans.
On Thursday, Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara fuelled transfer market speculation by posting a photo of herself wearing a Juventus tracksuit top on social media, sparking discussions and debates amongst fans. Predictably, Inter fans weren’t too impressed with the fashion choice.
Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto provided an update on Icardi’s desire to return to Serie A and the current market landscape via Caught Offside.
Currently, none of the top three – Juventus, Inter and Milan – are interested in making a move for the Argentinian striker in the upcoming summer transfer window, focusing on other targets.
The 31-year-old and his wife would love to return to Italy one day, having enjoyed their time living in the Lombardy capital.
