Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie has given his thoughts on the ongoing situation at Sheffield Wednesday.
The situation at Sheffield Wednesday remains one of the most perplexing in English football.
The stance of maligned owner Dejphon Chansiri hasn't changed in recent months, despite continuous pressure from the EFL and HMRC, alongside obvious apathy from supporters.
This week, the Sheffield Star claimed that many involved in negotiations with Chansiri have "walked away frustrated at a confused process and an absence of any clear asking price", suggesting that the Thai businessman doesn't have much of an interest in selling the stricken South Yorkshire outfit.
Though on Friday morning, a key update emerged, with reporter Alan Biggs sharing that the Owls are "finally on the brink of going into administration," and that it "could even happen today."
Entering administration will provide an exit route for Chansiri, something that supporters would rejoice about.
However, his lack of will to negotiate a deal to sell the club is what has brought Sheffield Wednesday to this very moment.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World, Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie has given his thoughts on the continuous nightmare situation at Hillsborough.
"The nightmare continues for Sheffield Wednesday. It is absolutely ludicrous that it's continuing on and on," Hendrie told FLW, when asked whether he believes that the situation will ever come to an end for the Owls.
"You do feel that if this was resolved, after they have done well to keep themselves in a position where they are still fighting to push away from the bottom three, it would change the feeling around the football club."
Wednesday are locked to the bottom of the Championship, after Henrik Pedersen's side have picked up one win across their opening 11 matches.
However, the togetherness and spirit seen in a threadbare squad have won the hearts of supporters, despite ongoing boycotts keeping Hillsborough almost empty on matchdays.
"I think that the feeling would change if Chansiri was away from the football club and out of the equation," Hendrie added.
"I think that would be perfect for the club. But, it seems that he is dragging his heels at the moment."
Administration provides a viable strategy for Sheffield Wednesday to escape the grip of Dejphon Chansiri. However, the process has to be worked through adequately.
On the pitch matters have undoubtedly come second to supporters throughout the ongoing situation, and the potential 12-point deduction as a result of entering administration will not worry fans.

The most crucial element of the upcoming process is that jobs are saved. As has been a consistent theme throughout the year, staff at all levels of the club have received inconsistent payments, with September being the fifth month in seven in which players had received a late payment.
Administration may offer a clean slate, but it simply has to be handled properly to ensure that the club can once again be built on solid and sustainable foundations.
Supporters are crying out for a football club that they can believe in once again - this could be the case soon. Though getting the process right is essential.
