Leicester City are unlikely to spend much of the transfer fees they have received for Mads Hermansen and Wilfred Ndidi.
Leicester City are unlikely to spend much - if any - of the £30m banked in the past week, Football League World understands.
The Foxes enjoyed a windfall thanks to the sale of Mads Hermansen to West Ham and the exit of Wilfred Ndidi to Besiktas for £20m and £9.5m respectively.
Those departures landed the Championship club with a decent booty, but Leicester's spending from this point will be minimal.
Football League World understands the word is that Leicester remain heavily in trouble with profit and sustainability issues.
Agents have been trying to suggest replacements for both positions - goalkeeper and central midfield - but the answer has stayed consistent: the club isn’t going to be using that cash on fees.
The Foxes will try to help out new boss Marti Cifuentes with loan moves or players who are available on a free transfer.
They are scouring the top division for players who will be available to help them on a season-long basis.
So far, Leicester haven’t spent in the market, adding only keeper Asmir Begovic as competition for Jakub Stolarczyk.
Players such as Harry Souttar and Hamza Choudhury have returned to the King Power Stadium following loan spells away at Sheffield United.
But the feeling at the club is that the squad remains bloated and that several more players might need to leave before the end of the transfer window.
Jamie Vardy (pictured) is one big wage-earner who has moved on - he called time on his career with the Foxes following the club’s demotion from the top-flight.
Former England international Conor Coady has followed suit - he has left for a new challenge at Wrexham.
With several of Leicester's forwards likely to attract attention before the market closes on September 1 at 7pm, it could be a whirlwind last few weeks.
Abdul Fatawu, Stephy Mavididi and Bilal El Khannouss are all fit and firing, and it would be a major surprise if none of them moved on, leaving Cifuentes to wheel and deal in a desperate dash for replacements.
