Liverpool are in advanced talks to complete their first transfer of the summer window.
It's a busy period for the club at the moment. Not only are the Reds embarking on a change of management with Andoni Iraola and his new backroom staff set to arrive but they are also fundamentally changing the shape of the squad.
Key figures have already departed with Andy Robertson, Mo Salah and Ibrahima Konate all leaving on a free deal. It remains to be seen whether there are further departures.
The fates of Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister are all up in the air.
There are going to be new arrivals as well. Jeremy Jacquet agreed a move in January. He will be joined by Ifeanyi Ndukwe, who will both be arriving for pre-season under Iraola.
Other transfer targets remain. Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande are well liked. Liverpool also appreciate Lamine Camara, Mamadou Sangare, Adam Wharton and Alex Scott in the midfield.
And right-back options are also being considered. Daniel Banjaqui of Benfica has emerged as a candidate.
Whether Liverpool will strongly pursue a move remains to be seen.
These changes are not happening just at senior level, though. The club's U21 side are also expected to undergo a bit of a shake-up.
Several key players will be looking to depart on loan from the U21 team. Armin Pecsi and Kieran Morrison are the two most poised to venture out on loan spells.
There is however also strong interest in Wellity Lucky and Amara Nallo from a number of EFL clubs and with Mor Talla Ndiaye and Ndukwe coming in, it's expected the former duo will form the centre-back duo for the Reds' U21 side next season.
In midfield Trey Nyoni is attracting strong interest from clubs in Europe and the Championship. RB Leipzig are among them.
In light of these changes, the Reds have decided to reinforce their options and provide extra depth in midfield.
Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign Hungary U19 international Patrik Farkas.
The Blackburn midfielder is expected to be a free agent come the end of the month, and he is in negotiations with Liverpool.
Our sources understand discussions are ongoing over a two-year contract which would be signed on July 1st.
Farkas spent over two years in the club's academy where he played alongside Jayden Danns among others, leaving at U16 level to join Blackburn, where he was a regular for the club's U21 side and even earned recognition at first-team level.
During his time with Blackburn, Farkas scored and assisted against Liverpool's U18 side in four encounters against the Reds.

He is a tenacious central midfielder who is capable of covering a lot of distances and won 70% of his 7.52 defensive duels per 90 minutes in the Premier League 2.
Farkas' younger brother, Erik, has just signed a scholarship deal at Liverpool after catching the eye at U18 level last season. Erik is regarded as one of the biggest prospects in the club's academy alongside Joshua Abe.
It is expected that Patrik will join Liverpool's U21 side should the deal be finalised.
Farkas would be the fifth Hungarian at Liverpool alongside his younger brother, Milos Kerkez, Dominik Szoboszlai and the aforementioned Pecsi.
He will also follow a long list of Hungarians who have represented Liverpool at U21 level, including Peter Gulacsi, Krisztian Adorjan and Krisztian Nemeth.
