Exclusive: Mattia Viti to sign for Fiorentina – the details | OneFootball

Football Italia understand that Mattia Viti is set to sign for Fiorentina from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice. This comes after reports earlier today suggested Fiorentina were hot on the trail of the former Empoli defender.

Mattia Viti will be a new defender for Fiorentina. Our earlier reports have been confirmed — we had exclusively told you a short while ago about a deal at an advanced stage and a decision has already been made.

Fiorentina are signing him on loan with an option to buy for around €5 million, plus a 10% clause on any future sale. Viti had returned to Nice at the end of his loan spell with Empoli — the same club that sold him to the French side in August 2022 for around €13 million.

Fiorentina want to invest in young Italian players and have a lot of faith in the Italian defender. This will be their third signing, after Džeko and Fazzini.
