Speaking in an interview with GFFN last month, Alverca’s sporting director, Fernando Malta, said, “Bastien is a player that, now, to be fair, is the most spoken player of our market, 100%. He’s the player that everyone wants to know. When I say everyone, it’s in terms of high-level clubs.”

Alverca set Meupiyou’s price tag

The France youth international, nominated for this year’s Golden Boy award, played 32 games in all competitions, leading newly-promoted Alverca to a comfortable mid-table finish.

Speaking to GFFN, Meupiyou also addressed his future. Like any player, I want to play in the best competitions, play in the best leagues in the world. I just want to keep progressing, keep on this path, and one day, why not play in the best competitions and leagues,” said the Frenchman.

Alverca are expecting a club-record fee for the centre-back. With his asking price set at €15m, he is attracting significant interest.
