Posh were rock-bottom of the League One table when Darren Ferguson was relieved of his duties on October 25, yet Luke Williams' appointment days later has seen them rise up the standings.

The ex-Swansea City head coach has overseen nine league wins from his 16 matches in charge, with United now sitting 12th in the table - albeit points-wise they are still closer to the bottom four than the play-off sports.

The January transfer window has seen Posh incredibly inactive, with no new signings made and a number of departures, such as Gustav Lindgren and Ryan De Havilland, but they could potentially make a move on deadline day, with a Championship attacker in their sights.

Peterborough United in transfer mix for Middlesbrough winger Micah Hamilton

FLW understands that Peterborough are among a number of League One clubs that are interested in taking Middlesbrough's Micah Hamilton on loan for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

Hamilton made the move to Boro from Man City in the summer of 2024 for a fee of around £2 million, having come through the academy at former Premier League champions and appearing three times at senior level, which included a first professional goal in a Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade.

The 22-year-old's move to Teesside though hasn't worked out yet - he quickly found himself out of favour with Michael Carrick at Boro last season before being loaned out to League One promotion chasers Stockport County for the second half of the campaign, only to appear five times and he played no part of their two-legged play-off semi-final defeat at the hands of Leyton Orient.

And having added just five appearances to his Boro tally this season, with just one of those being from the start, Hamilton - who is capable of playing on both flanks as well in the number 10 role - looks set to depart the Riverside Stadium temporarily again before the 7pm deadline on Monday evening.

Peterborough are just one of the third tier clubs keen on signing the ex-Man City man, and it remains to be seen who else comes to the table to try and sign him on loan for the rest of the season.
