Our writer Simon Phillips has heard pretty conclusively from inside the Chelsea dressing room that it’s all over for Liam Rosenior – if you didn’t know that already.

We were a little surprised that he did his post-match press conference at all, and he took the chance there to slam his players.

But the Chelsea boss didn’t give his group a post-match team talk.

Rosenior walks straight out of Amex and says goodbye

SPTC Sources heard that he basically pretty much said ‘goodbye’ to all his staff and his players at the end of the game and didn’t even do a post-match team talk – he just headed out,” Philips wrote.

Right now, Chelsea are just working out who will take over until the end of the season. Callum McFarlane, the now first team assistant who took charge of two games between Maresca’s departure and Rosenior’s arrival, is the obvious candidate.

The club have not contacted any new coaches or been planning for this, so they’re starting from scratch here. They “wanted to keep backing” Rosenior but now see it’s untenable.

In other news…

Kaveh Solhekol of Sky pointed to one clue that Rosenior could keep his job for a few more days at least – but we’re not buying it.

Solhekol pointed out that Liam Rosenior had been telling the fans that all was OK for a long time when it clearly wasn’t.
