The Sun have an exclusive today about the future of Cole Palmer, and it’s not pretty reading for Chelsea fans.

The attacking midfielder is apparently “increasingly disillusioned with life at Chelsea,” and is “primed to leave this summer.”

Injuries held him back at the start of this season, and he’s struggled to recover his form ever since. Two years ago he looked on track to become an England star and a face of the Premier League. Right now it’s not even certain he will join Thomas Tuchel’s squad in the US.

Cole Palmer has super clubs interested as he looks for exit

Palmer is linked with Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich. His unhappiness apparently stems from a “change in Chelsea’s tactics” which he feels “have denied him space on the pitch.”

He’s also unhappy about Nicolas Jackson’s departure.

Seeing the team struggle to make progress and watching teammates like Enzo Fernandez flirt with departure must make leaving much more tempting for Palmer.

In other news…

Trevoh Chalobah likely would have had a start for England in this break and a chance to earn a starting spot – but injury came at a terrible time for him.

Chalobah’s own social media page has given the best clue so far about a potential return, with the defender already back on the bike machine, albeit in a protective boot.
