Sevilla will be busy in the lead-up to the summer transfer window deadline, which is at 8pm CEST on Monday evening. One signing that Los Nervionenses officials wish to make is a new defensive midfielder, and they have set their sights on former Manchester United star Sofyan Amrabat.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football España that Sevilla have initiated formal talks over a deal for Amrabat. Fenerbahçe are demanding around €20m for the Moroccan pivot, but the Andalusians are aiming for a loan deal, which would include them covering his €5m annual salary.
While Fenerbahçe prefer a permanent transfer, they’re not entirely closed to a loan option. But despite this being good news for Sevilla, there is growing interest in Amrabat’s services, with Juventus, Inter Milan, and Atalanta having all made direct contact with the player. Inter are also expected to submit an official offer soon, while AC Milan are also monitoring the situation closely. Meanwhile, several clubs from Saudi Arabia are preparing lucrative offers, but Amrabat’s priority remains staying in Europe.

This is not the first time that Amrabat has attracted interest from Spanish clubs, as he was pursued by Atletico Madrid in 2024 before he ended up on loan at Fenerbahce – who signed him on a permanent basis earlier in the summer. And 12 months prior to this, Barcelona also had him on their list as a low-cost Sergio Busquets replacement, although he was eventually ruled out.
Amrabat would be a solid addition for Sevilla, who picked up their first victory of the season over the weekend. Matias Almeyda’s squad needs added to before the transfer window closes in less than 12 hours’ time, and the race is on to secure an agreement for the Morocco international.
