Sheffield Wednesday have entered talks with QPR over the potential signing of goalkeeper Murphy Cooper, Football League World understands
Henrik Pedersen will be desperate to bolster his ailing squad at Sheffield Wednesday, with the club simply looking to get through what has been a wretched campaign both on and off-the-pitch as they look ahead to life back in League One.
By that point, of course, Wednesday will surely be under new ownership, having been freed from the hands of Dejphon Chansiri back in late October when the controversial Thai businessman relinquished control of the club.
As it stands, James Bord is lined up to take over from current administrators, Begbies Traynor, although the prospective new Owls owner still needs to pass relevant EFL checks to ensure he is the right man to take the South Yorkshire club forward.
Wednesdayites will be hoping to see light at the end of the tunnel amid a disastrous season for the Owls, who are rooted to the foot of the Championship table on -7 points after suffering multiple points deductions.
Owing to previous issues under Chanisiri, Wednesday are prohibited from paying transfer fees until the summer of 2027 and were only able to add loan pair Harry Amass and Ethan Horvath to the side during the last window, though they have received special dispensation to sign two 'free' loan players to aid Pedersen's thin and inexperienced squad.
Earlier this week, Football League World broke the news that Wednesday are closing in on the long-awaited loan capture of Manchester City prospect Jaden Heskey, who was a target back in the summer, and it's now understood that another temporary target is being eyed at Hillsborough.
Football League World can exclusively reveal that Wednesday have entered talks to try and complete another potential loan addition, with discussions taking place surrounding a move for Murphy Cooper of Championship rivals QPR.

Wednesday's interest in Cooper comes after yet another injury setback to impressive shot-stopper Pierce Charles, who is set to miss the next two months of action after damaging his shoulder in last weekend's FA Cup third-round exit against Brentford.
Charles has already spent three months of the campaign on the sidelines earlier on in the campaign, in which Wednesday were able to call upon the aforementioned Horvath before the conclusion of his half-season loan spell from Cardiff City, where he has now returned ahead of a likely permanent exit.
Pedersen has been working with a thin and decimated squad this season following last summer's exodus, with inexperienced duo Jack Phillips and Logan Stretch representing the only available goalkeeping options at the Dane's selection right now.
It will be hoped, then, that Wednesday can progress in negotiations for Cooper and get a deal wrapped up sooner rather than later.
It was announced just yesterday that QPR had taken the decision to exercise a recall clause in the agreement which took Cooper to Barnsley on loan back in the summer, with the 24-year-old making 28 appearances across all competitions for the League One outfit prior to his Loftus Road return.

Despite being an impressive performer at third-tier level with both Barnsley and Stevenage over the last season-and-a-half, Cooper faces competition from the likes of Ben Hamer, Paul Nardi and Joe Walsh and could be tempted by the opportunity to continue playing regular football away from West London.
He would be guaranteed a run of games to cement his worth at Wednesday, who will simply benefit from any bodies being added to the squad at this moment in time.
