Lee Hendrie has given his score prediction for the Championship giant clash between Ipswich Town and Sheffield United

It has been far from the ideal start for both Ipswich Town and Sheffield United so far this season, with both sides sitting in the bottom five places with four games played so far this season.

For Ipswich Town, Kieran McKenna's side have been below-par to say the least for their standards after facing the drop last year from the Premier League. With merely 3 points on the board and without a win on record in all competitions this season, Ipswich supporters will hope that the international break has given McKenna the time he needs to revitalise his group of players and get a much-needed win under his belt.

The same goes for Ruben Selles' Sheffield United, who have been the surprise team of this season... and not for the better.

With the Blades sitting rock bottom of the Championship after being tipped as heavy promotion candidates, Selles certainly has his work cut out if he is to have any hope of reaching those heights this campaign.

With three consecutive 1-0 losses against Swansea, Millwall, and Middlesbrough, it has raised real concerns in front of goal, having only scored one league goal so far this season.

It will be a clash that is near enough impossible to call with both teams in dire need of the three points.

Lee Hendrie's verdict on Ipswich Town vs Sheffield United

Speaking exclusively to FLW, Hendrie said, "Massive game: Ipswich versus Sheffield United. I'll be covering that in the studio on Friday."

"I think, for lots of reasons, both of these clubs are tipped to be amongst the promotion race and, for sure, you do think that the start that they've had has been nowhere near what they should be, particularly with the players that they have brought in."

"Both sets of squads, obviously Sheffield United with a new manager, and it just hasn't quite worked for them, so I think that this will be a tight game. I'm going to go 1-1 just for both clubs not really hitting the heights so far."

"I think this will be a real cagey affair."

With Hendrie predicting a draw as the outcome, you'd seem to think that neither team would be happy with sharing a point due to the current situation that they are in. Especially for Sheffield United, who would most likely stay in 24th place if that were to be how the proceedings pan out.

The international break is just what Ipswich and Sheffield United needed

With the international break putting a halt to the season temporarily, having the time to regroup and stop the rut that both of these promotion candidates are in may be just what McKenna and Selles needed in order to freshen up their ideas and work on forming high morale within both sets of teams.

For Sheffield United, the Blades left some of their transfer business right up until the deadline, which has given the fresh faces time to be integrated into the group and could be looking at being given debuts in their upcoming clash with Ipswich.

The likes of Ben Mee, Chiedozie Ogbene, and Mark McGuinness will for sure add a mixture of stability as well as creativity to Selles' team which could prove to be the difference in earning their first points this season.

As for Ipswich, we could see the introduction of Marcelino Nunez, who made the controversial switch across East Anglia from Norwich City to the Tractor Boys. He will for sure give McKenna another solid option in the engine room.
