Lee Hendrie has spoken to FLW about the impact Harvey Vale has had at Loftus Road so far this season.

Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie believes Queens Park Rangers will be “delighted” to have secured the services of Harvey Vale back in February due to the 22-year-old's early season form.

The Hoops had made a mixed start to the new second-tier term under Julien Stephan prior to their impressive 3-1 victory away at Wrexham, but an eye-catching 1-0 victory over high-flying Stoke City last weekend has moved them to the periphery of the play-offs places.

This has seen the West London outfit take 10 points from their opening six league games, with QPR outside the top six by goal difference.

QPR will be looking to keep their early-season form going, with upcoming games against Sheffield Wednesday and Oxford United targeted for maximum points to help establish themselves in the promotion mix.

All the way back in February, The R’s managed to capture the signature of Harvey Vale from Chelsea, fending off Championship rivals West Brom for his signature.

Upon signing for the club, Vale was sidelined for the remainder of the campaign with an ongoing injury issue, but has got up to speed for this term and is showcasing why he was previously on Chelsea’s books.

Vale has started the last three league games, which have all resulted in victory, and the 22-year-old has recorded an assist against Charlton Athletic, as well as scoring the winning goal against Stoke last weekend.

There’s much optimism brewing that these contributions will occur on a regular basis to help QPR push further up the table, and it appears Vale will be vital to any success unfolding in W12.

With this news in mind, Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie has offered his thoughts on Vale’s impact at QPR and whether the club have hit the jackpot by signing him.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World, ex-Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie believes QPR will be “delighted” to have beaten the likes of West Brom for the signing of Harvey Vale back in February, with the long-term investment now paying dividends through his positive start to the term.

Asked whether QPR have hit the jackpot, Hendrie said: “Yeah, they've definitely hit the jackpot.

“He’s still a young man at 22, but he can play in a fair few positions, which always helps. He’s been out and had his loan spells at different football clubs, Bristol Rovers was his last one, and with the way QPR have this model with younger players and giving them the potential to express what they have, he’s been really good for them.

“He’s part of the goals and assists already, and looks like he’s enjoying his football, which is so important. There were clubs certainly sniffing around him, and I’m sure QPR will be absolutely delighted that they got the signature of Harvey Vale.”

Harvey Vale can be a special player for QPR this season

QPR definitely saw the potential in Harvey Vale, particularly recruiting him even when he had a long-term injury, but their instincts are now being justfied by how impactful he’s been in the attacking areas.

Provided he keeps fit over the course of the campaign, Vale will be backing himself for a starting spot, even though competition in the forward areas is very competitive.

Vale could also be an important figure for his versatility over the course of the season too. Vale has managed to play in every single attacking position, as well as at left-back during his short career, something that will be of huge benefit when the R’s eventually suffer injuries in key departments.

Therefore, with the quality and versatility he possesses, the former Chelsea man is set to play a starring role, and there will be hope he can do the majority of his damage in the final third to help QPR disrupt the apple cart this season.

This signing could turn out to be a major masterstroke and transform the R’s fortunes between now and May 2026, with Vale set to be a Premier League player in the making with how he's taken to Championship life.
