Football Italia can exclusively reveal that Chivu has put talks with Parma on hold, as the Ducali were preparing to discuss a contract extension with the former defender.

Chivu is waiting for an offer from Inter after being informed about the interest from his former club.

Genoa’s Patrick Vieira is another candidate for the Nerazzurri, but the ex-France star seems willing to keep his word with Genoa and would not be available unless Inter match his €500,000 clause.

Vieira will likely get a contract extension with a pay rise if he stays at Genoa beyond the summer.

Both Vieira and Chivu are former Inter players, but the latter also coached the Nerazzurri Primavera, winning the Scudetto in 2022.
