Toby Collyer is ‘expected to join’ Hull City today on a half-season loan, according to Manchester World journalist Rich Fay.

In addition, Manchester Evening News’ Steven Railston confirmed on Sunday that ‘talks are moving in the right direction’ for the midfielder to make the move from the Red Devils as swiftly as possible.

Toby Collyer: What’s happened in 2025/2026 so far?

Manchester United’s Collyer spent most of the first half of the campaign on loan with West Bromwich Albion, until he sustained a serious knee injury at the end of November.

He reported back to Carrington in December to undergo treatment and start his rehabilitation with his parent club, with United then officially terminating his spell when the window opened at the start of January.

Now that he’s close to match fitness, United have been assessing where he should spend the next four months to gain some valuable first-team experience, and have seemingly decided on the Tigers.

Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic said over the weekend (via The Mirror): “With Toby Collyer, we are waiting, but I think we have a green light from Man United, and I think he will join us on Monday.”

“This is what I know, but we have agreed everything with Man United.”

How Collyer has fared in his senior United career

The 22-year-old has racked up 13 senior appearances for United thus far, starting with his debut under Erik ten Hag in the Community Shield final back in August 2024.

He’d have been made aware heading into the current term that game time would’ve been incredibly hard to come by after the side failed to qualify for any European competition, hence embarking on two separate loan ventures.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Collyer, whose contract runs until 2027, at Old Trafford when he is back in the summer and a new manager is at the reins.
