Gonçalo Ramos (23) was forced off early on in Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 opener against Le Havre AC, and the extent of the Portuguese international’s injury has now been revealed in a report from Le Parisien.
Ramos went down under a challenge from Le Havre’s Étienne Youte Kinkoue, having begun the game brightly. He was subsequently replaced by Randal Kolo Muani in the 20th minute and had to sit in the stands, wearing a protective boot, as PSG won 4-1 thanks to a flurry of late goals.
Post-match, Luis Enrique was pessimistic regarding the diagnosis, stating that he believed that Ramos had suffered a “serious” ankle injury. Le Parisien understands that the striker has suffered a fractured left ankle and as a result, he will undergo surgery and will miss around three months’ worth of competition. It is a blow for PSG, as well as the player himself, who following Kylian Mbappé’s departure, was the favourite to lead the line for Les Parisiens this season.
