A major FA Cup shock has arrived on the eve of Leeds United’s quarter-final, reshaping the odds and hinting at a possible opening.

Leeds visit West Ham at the London Stadium for a 4.30pm Sunday kick-off, with the winners becoming the fourth and final semi-finalist. According to yorkshireevenpost.co.uk, the upset has triggered a significant swing in the outright odds.

Saturday’s action began with Manchester City beating Liverpool 4-0 at the Etihad, an Erling Haaland hat-trick doing the damage.

Chelsea then overpowered League Two strugglers Port Vale 7-0 at Stamford Bridge. Premier League leaders Arsenal were expected to follow in the 8pm tie at Championship hosts Southampton, but the in-form Saints won 2-1 to knock them out.

If Leeds get past West Ham, there would be a one in three chance of drawing Championship opposition in the semi-finals. A meeting with Southampton would also offer a shot at payback for the May 2024 Championship play-off final defeat.

The revised prices are led by Manchester City at 1-2, in from 3-4 since the draw. Chelsea are 11-4, in from 3-1. Leeds are 10-1, trimmed from 14s and as short as 7s with some firms. Southampton are 22-1, out from 20-1.
