Trabzonspor have decided to bet on a partnership that proved successful at Liverpool. After making a splash by signing Mohamed Salah, the Turkish club have now brought in midfielder Fabinho.
Both winners of the UEFA Champions League with the Reds, the pair are reunited after three seasons apart. That was the period Fabinho spent at Al-Ittihad Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Available on a free transfer, he was briefly linked with a return to Brazilian football, rumours that were quickly dismissed, before signing for the Turkish side.
Fresh to Trabzonspor, Salah scored his first two goals this Sunday in a 2-1 win over Basaksehir. It was the 34-year-old winger's third match for the club, after leaving Liverpool.
Before the major investment for the season, Trabzonspor had already enjoyed a relatively successful year. They won the Turkish Cup and finished third in the Turkish league.
Fabinho joins a host of high-profile names in Turkey, such as Romelu Lukaku, Dusan Vlahovic, and Nathan Aké, among others.
