He hasn’t played a match for Corinthians since 21 July, 2018, but manager Fábio Carille claims that defensive midfielder Renê Junior is still not in his plans.
The player, who suffered a serious knee injury, is still being treated with a lot of caution by the training staff and will probably not be used anytime soon.
“As for our plans to use him on the team, we have none,” admitted Carille. “He had a serious injury and still trains with us, but we want to be careful so that he avoids minor injuries.
“We have to be patient. He is a player I always asked to bring to Corinthians, but since last season, he has not been able to get on the pitch.”
Of course, in addition to his condition, Renê Junior faces a lot of competition. Ralf is returning from injury while Gabriel has been in fantastic form in his place.
Meanwhile, Junior Urso, Matheus Jesus, Ramiro, and Ángelo Araos are also options.
Renê Junior has played 12 games for Corinthians since arriving on a free transfer from Ponte Preta in January 2018 and is under contract until the end of 2020.
