Manchester United forward Amad is set to return to full training next week, according to the reliable Fabrizio Romano.

Amad sustained an ankle injury during training earlier this year in February, ahead of United’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

The expectation was that the Ivorian would be ruled out for the rest of the season as he recovered from the issue.

However, in April, United head coach Ruben Amorim issued an extremely positive fitness condition on the player, indicating he was doing well and could be back for the final games of the campaign.

Two weeks ago, United posted images of Amad working hard in the gym at Carrington, stepping up his recovery ahead of a sensational return.

A few days later, the 22-year-old confirmed he was back training on the grass.

Now, Romano has revealed that Amad is poised to be back in full training with the rest of his teammates next week.

The Italian journalist wrote on X, “EXCLUSIVE: Amad Diallo, set to be back in training with Manchester United squad already next week!”

“Despite initial expectations for season to be over after injury, he’s recovered in record-time…”

“…and so Amad will be available for training from next week.”

This information will comes as incredibly good news not only to Amorim and the team, but also to the fans.

Amad’s absence has been deeply felt, as he was arguably United’s most consistent and in-form player before his injury. His return couldn’t have come at a better time, with United pushing for Europa League glory – not just to secure silverware, but also to claim a spot in next season’s Champions League.

United go away to Estadio de San Mamés on May 1 for the first leg of their semi-final tie with Athletic Club. It’s unlikely Amad will be fully fit for this meeting but he could be available for selection for the return leg at Old Trafford seven days later.
