Arne Slot is down to the bare bones in defence with Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley two long-term absentees.
Without Robertson the Premier League champions will be down to only FIVE senior defenders - Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
But there are plans to fix up the squad with a new left-back.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Kostas Tsimikas will be making his way back to base for the second half of the season. The 29-year-old Greek joined Roma on a season-long loan deal last summer but it hasn’t gone too well.
Tsimikas isn’t a first pick for Gian Piero Gasperini and it looks like the Reds are going to break up the loan in order to add to their left-back options.
“Understand AS Roma have already given green light to Kostas Tsimikas return to Liverpool if Robertson joins Spurs,” Romano writes on X.
“It’s almost over between Tsimikas and Roma with LFC ready to welcome the left back again.
“No recall clause but club to club contact.”
Tsimikas may have thought he’d already played his last game for Liverpool. The left-back - who joined in 2020 - is out of contract in 2027 and was expected to leave on a permanent basis in summer 2026.
He will have a last-gasp reprieve to forge a Liverpool future for himself - as £40m signing Kerkez’s understudy.
