On Wednesday, news broke that United are closing in on a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for the transfer of Carlos Baleba.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United will return to the negotiating table today and are confident of closing the deal.

Should the deal go through, Carlos Baleba will become Manchester United’s third midfield signing of the summer following the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.

The Brighton midfielder’s signing, expected to cost around £65 million, should wrap up INEOS’s much talked about plan of revamping the area.

However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano insisted that the Red Devils are “not done yet” in the market.

The Italian journalist expects United to address two more positions, including the left flank, before the window closes.

“So it could be two more signings after Baleba for Manchester United. One left-back I would say almost guaranteed and then one more striker only if Zirkzee leaves,” Romano said.

Manchester United keen on signing left-back

Given Luke Shaw’s fitness record and the departure of Tyrell Malacia, United are determined to bring in a new left-back.

It has been widely reported that their preferred target is Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall but the Magpies are reluctant to lose another star player this summer.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have held discussions with the player side of Jorge Salinas.

The 19-year-old Spanish full-back is rated highly by the club’s data team. His contract with La Liga club Racing de Santander reportedly includes an affordable release clause.
