Fabrizio Romano issues Amad Diallo update, Manchester United 'to keep' winger amid Newcastle links

Fabrizio Romano said on social media that Manchester United have no intention of selling Amad Diallo this summer, adding that the winger’s camp were told in June and that the club want to keep and trust him.

The winger has been linked with several clubs in this window, with Newcastle among those credited with an interest.

That stance makes any switch to St James’ Park appear unlikely, with United viewing the Ivorian as part of their plans.

Amad, 24, remains a favourite on Wearside after scoring 14 goals on loan at Sunderland in 2022-23 under Tony Mowbray, helping reach the Championship play-offs.

The prospect of him joining Newcastle would shock many Sunderland supporters, but the current position points to United retaining him and having already set out that view to his representatives.
