The Swedish centre-back was sold to Braga last year for around £2.2 million after struggling to establish himself under Brendan Rodgers, making just ten appearances before being loaned out to FC Twente.
Having arrived in 2024 summer transfer window, Lagerbielke quickly fell out of favour at the Hoops but has since revived his career in Portugal, where he has been a regular performer for Braga.
He featured in the Portuguese side’s 2-0 victory at Celtic Park back in September in the Europa League.

Lagerbielke and his Braga teammates are now in the last 16 of the competition having hammered Robbie Keane’s Ferencvaros in the playoff round prior to the international break.
Braga face Real Betis next Thursday for their first leg knockout tie, with a favourable route to the Europa League final potentially awaiting the winner.
Lagerbielke’s impressive form has also carried onto the international stage, where he found the net in Sweden’s World Cup 3-2 play-off victory over Poland, with the goal set up by Benjamin Nygren.
Reports from Fabrizio Romano claim Paris FC attempted to sign the 25-year-old in January without success, and further bids from across Europe are now expected in the upcoming window.
Romano said via X: “Paris FC tried to sign Gustaf Lagerbielke in January, SC Braga didn’t want to sell him. More bids expected this summer from top five leagues after his performances with Braga and Sweden, also scoring against Poland.”

Lagerbielke’s time at Celtic was relatively short and sweet and many supporters have argued he wasn’t given a fair chance under Rodgers.

The Swede’s finest moment in a Celtic jersey came back in December 2023 when he scored the winner in a 3-2 victory against Feyenoord in a dead rubber Champions League group stage game at Celtic Park.
