This Thursday morning, reliable sources clarified the supposed interest of English club Chelsea in Rodrygo Silva de Goes, a Real Madrid player, during the January winter transfer window.

Romano denies transfer rumors

On his official account (X), Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano denied reports linking the Brazilian international to the Blues, stating that these rumors are completely unfounded.

Romano clarified: "There are no talks taking place between Chelsea and Rodrygo for the January transfer window, despite reports coming from Brazil."

This denial comes despite recent reports suggesting Chelsea’s management had opened talks with Real Madrid to consider a transfer.

Rodrygo, 24, who joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 from Santos, has expressed feeling underappreciated by the coaching staff, which could push him to consider a move in order to better prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
