Charly Alcaraz makes up for lost top-flight ground at Southampton with Premier League continuity.
Around two summers ago, Southampton hit one of their lowest Premier League phases in recent memory. For many of the newer fans, those moments were their first disappointing experiences as a Saint and they knew that it was going to be a downward slump for a significant duration.
And they weren't wrong as Southampton went on an offloading spree to manage their future transfer expenses. Though they must have planned to retain some of their non-negotiable mainstays, a rapid Premier League leap convinced them to spend way too many transfer funds in ecstasy.
In doing so, they loosened their hold on Charly Alcaraz. Later, they replaced the midfielder well by recruiting Mateus Fernandes but deep down the Saints know they could have fared better with the former's goals.
More so, when they witness Everton reaping the rewards for their scouting hard work. Still, Southampton must look at the other side of the coin which conveys that Alcaraz will be staying in the Premier League unlike the previous occasion.
The Saints have obtained their informal Championship orders and Fabrizio Romano has affirmed that Alcaraz would permanently link up with Everton.
Does Alcaraz's transfer confirmation benefit Southampton? No, but it's an encouraging achievement for one of our courageous Saints who had to bow down to the Championship a couple of seasons ago.
Further, Southampton have made harmony with the idea that their best stars will eventually be eyed by high-flying clubs. Thus, there's no point in lamenting any errors in parting ways with him because that was inevitable to happen at some point of time.
Hence, let's back Southampton to navigate through another dismal Championship circumstance that is just around the corner.
