Newly appointed Raja Club Athletic head coach Fadlu Davids has revealed his main objectives after taking over the reins at the Moroccan giants.

The South African tactician returned to the club to succeed Lassaad Chabbi, having previously served as an assistant coach to Josef Zinnbauer.

During his initial stint in Casablanca, Davids, along with the German mentor guided Raja to an invincible Botola Pro League title and lifted the Throne Cup in the 2023/24 campaign.

The 44-year-old gaffer expressed excitement at reuniting with the team after mutually parting ways with Tanzanian giants Simba SC in the wake of Raja’s approach.

“It’s a fantastic feeling being back home, a club that we have a good feeling for. Good reception already from the players, it feels really good to be back and I hope we can have a successful season inshallah,” Davids told Raja’s media department.

Davids went on to state that his immediate target is to win all the trophies on offer, including the Botola Pro League and the Throne Cup.

“Of course, with a big club like Raja, and now you have an ambitious coach who wants to go for every trophy that is available – let’s start with the Botola, we have to try to win every game,” he added.

“We are thinking about lifting the trophy, we are thinking about the Throne Cup but at the moment we just have to focus on the next game.

“All our focus is on Jadida and that’s what we will focus on and how we will do it is that we will approach every match game by game.

Davids will oversee his first match in charge of Raja on Sunday as his troops are set to tackle Difaa El Jadida in matchday three of the Botola Pro.
