Faeti’s new samba celebrates Corinthians’ Brabas, now streaming

In November, Central do Timão exclusively previewed the re-recording of the first Corinthians anthem, from 1930, now reinterpreted by singer and composer Faeti Ramos in partnership with the club’s Cultural Department. The reinterpretation marked the beginning of a new creative phase for the artist and paved the way for another tribute to the black-and-white club.

This Monday (15th), Faeti officially releases on Spotify the samba “As Brabas do Coringão”, an ode to the grit, dedication, and leadership of Corinthians Women, multi-champions and a reference in the sport in Brazil. The song is co-written by him and former Timão cultural director Raul Corrêa da Silva, a frequent partner of the artist in projects related to the club. Listen exclusively HERE.

The idea for the song, according to Faeti, was born right after the completion of the 1930 anthem reinterpretation. “Dr. Raul and I were talking after the project ended. Then we thought: what will be our next one? And the idea came to pay tribute to the Brabas,” recalls the samba singer in an exclusive interview with Central do Timão.

The final spark came with the women’s team’s sixth continental championship, won in October in Argentina, with a victory on penalties over Deportivo Cali from Colombia. “After the Libertadores, Raul and I thought: these girls must be honored. They win everything: Copa do Brasil, Brasileiro, Libertadores. Ah, we had to honor them somehow,” says Faeti.

The lyrics of “As Brabas do Coringão” speak of emotion, grit, and dedication, elements that, for the samba singer, define the playing style of the multi-champion team. More than technique, what inspires Faeti is the competitive attitude of the players. “The will to win of these girls is crazy. They play every match as if it were a final, as if it were a World Cup game,” he says.

To bring the song to life, the artist gathered trusted professionals and sought to imprint a musical identity marked by the samba tradition. “I handpicked professionals from the music world and made sure to highlight the seven-string guitar and the trombone,” he explains.

Faeti believes that the union between samba and football, two cultural expressions deeply connected to the Brazilian people, helps to immortalize achievements that go beyond the sports field. “Samba is soul, it’s joy. With history, it does good, and it would be no different for women’s football of our beloved Corinthians,” he says.

With the release, he hopes that Corinthians fans and especially the athletes see themselves in the work. “May they like the song, understand the message, and use it as an example. May these girls be an example in everyone’s lives.”

Author of songs such as “Eu Nasci Corinthiano” and “Epitáfio Corinthiano”, as well as the recent historic reinterpretation of the 1930 anthem, Faeti assures that new tributes to Timão are on the horizon, although he prefers to keep it a secret. “There are other projects, but I won’t mention them yet. What if someone gets ahead of me,” he jokes.

When talking about what the club represents in his journey as an artist and a fan, Faeti returns to the emotion that characterizes all his work. “Corinthians for me is a religion, it’s my second skin,” he sums up.

With “As Brabas do Coringão”, he adds another composition to the growing collection of sambas that exalt the black-and-white history, now with the well-deserved prominence of the women who have turned Corinthians Women into a synonym for excellence, grit, and national pride.
