Nicolò Fagioli admits the game against RB Leipzig was ‘probably’ his best Juventus performance, although the Old Lady was ‘not perfect.’

Fagioli didn’t score but was one of the best players on the pitch in Juventus’ 3-2 win over RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.

The Italian playmaker finished the game with 98% passing accuracy and four key passes.

Juventus played down to ten men for more than 30 minutes in the second half after Michele Di Gregorio was sent off, but a Dusan Vlahovic brace inspired their second consecutive Champions League win.

“I think the first half was excellent, but it was a pity they scored from a counterattack,” Fagioli told Amazon Prime Video.

“The coach told us during the break to be confident because we had had many chances. We scored the equaliser, and then they dominated us mentally for five minutes, but luckily, Dusan scored another great goal. We remained focused, and the performance was excellent. I can’t say it was perfect because when you concede twice, it’s never perfect, but we had a big heart.”

Was this his best performance at a senior level at Juventus?

“Probably it was,” admitted the midfielder.

“It’s just the beginning. I had a tough moment, and it was my fault. Now, I am working hard, giving my all for this shirt.”

Fagioli has made seven appearances across all competitions this season, starting in the last two matches against Genoa in Serie A and RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

Fagioli’s contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2028.
