Morocco U20 star now at the centre of a winter battle

Famalicao demand €17 million to sell Moroccan striker Yassir Zabiri
Portuguese club Famalicao want at least €17 million to sell young Moroccan striker Yassir Zabiri during the winter transfer window.
Moroccan forward Yassir Zabiri is quickly becoming one of the most wanted young players in European football after his strong rise with Morocco’s U20 national team.
Portuguese side FC Famalicao have now made their financial demands clear as Stade Rennais submitted the first official offer to sign the 20 year old striker in the current winter transfer market.
Zabiri gained wide attention following Morocco’s historic victory at the 2025 U20 World Cup which was held in Chile in September.
Morocco defeated Argentina in the final to lift the trophy, with Zabiri playing major role throughout the tournament.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Rennes are searching for new attacking option as striker Kader Meïté is expected to leave for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
Rennes identified Zabiri as a key target and made initial offer but Famalicao were not satisfied with the amount.
The Portuguese club are reportedly asking for no less than €17 million to let their striker go.
Zabiri is under contract until 30 June 2028 giving Famalicao strong position in negotiations.
Zabiri played 14 match this season across all competitions and has scored four goal for Famalicao.
His ability to play across the front line has also impressed scouts, with reports suggesting he can operate in all three attacking roles.
