Clashes erupted on the pitch after Gornal Athletic lost 1-2 to Sutton United in the Midlands Football League Division One play-off final at Garden Walk Stadium in Gornal on Saturday.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, fan-shot video shared on X by Matt (@mpwolf94) captured the scenes and includes strong language. Supporters had poured onto the turf to celebrate with Sutton players, before several Gornal fans also entered and confrontations followed.

Punches were thrown in some incidents, and flares were hurled onto the pitch then tossed back towards the packed main stand. More than 1,500 people were in attendance for the final.

Police officers sprinted across the playing surface to break up the scuffles, with at least one police dog present. It took at least 15 minutes to clear the area and move fans away.

Police are investigating disorder from Saturday afternoon, with no serious injuries reported. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and bailed pending further enquiries.
