Leeds United supporter Michael "Little Mick" Hewitt, 65, has been found safe and well in Barcelona after more than 10 days without contact. He had been reported missing last week.

Gary Hewitt said in a social media post that his brother was safe and had been unaware of the search, adding that the family would share more once authorities were notified and thanking everyone who helped.

Michael Hewitt had travelled from Leeds to Barcelona last week, where he was due to connect to a flight to Boston for England's group-stage match against Ghana.

After relatives were unable to reach him, he was reported missing and an appeal spread widely across the media and the football community.

The update was confirmed on Wednesday morning.
