Fantasy Bundesliga tips: Goalkeepers to consider for the start of the 2026/27 season | OneFootball

With the 2026/27 Bundesliga season just around the corner, we're here to give you a helping hand with your Fantasy Bundesliga team.

In the first article of our series highlighting key players by position, we take a look at the goalkeepers you should have on your radar when building your squad.

One key change to note when picking your goalkeeper this season is that clean sheets now count towards their score, with shot-stoppers earning 80 points for every game in which they don't concede.

Saves remain an important source of points, too, with goalkeepers earning 15 points for a save from a shot inside the penalty area and 12 points for a save from a shot from outside the box. 

Budget options:

Fabian Bredlow, Stuttgart – 4.81m

With Alexander Nübel's three-year loan spell at VfB Stuttgart now over, Dennis Seimen has been installed as the club's new first-choice goalkeeper. However, after Seimen picked up an injury during pre-season, the experienced Fabian Bredlow is set to deputise at least until the first international break in September.

Priced at just 4.81 million, Bredlow is hard to ignore. While a clean sheet may be unlikely in the opener, he could still be in line for a productive Matchday 1, with Bayern Munich expected to test him with plenty of shots.

Matheo Raab, Union Berlin – 6.84m

Like Stuttgart, Union Berlin are also without their first-choice goalkeeper, with Frederik Rønnow currently sidelined. Matheo Raab was given the nod ahead of Carl Klaus in last weekend's DFB-Pokal and is therefore expected to start the Bundesliga season in goal as well.

The 27-year-old is priced just below the mid-range options and could be worth considering if you need to free up some extra budget for other areas of your squad.

Robin Zentner, Mainz – 7.2m

After spending much of the 2025/26 season on the sidelines, Zentner is firmly back in goal for Mainz.

Mainz coach Urs Fischer is known for building defensively solid teams that are comfortable sitting in a low block, which could be good news for Zentner's Fantasy prospects. It could increase his chances of keeping clean sheets while also giving him opportunities to pick up save points from opponents shooting from distance as they look to find a way through Mainz's compact defence. 

Mid-range options:

Nahuel Noll, Paderborn – 7.74m

Noll may not be among the goalkeepers most likely to keep clean sheets, but his value lies in the number of saves he's expected to be called upon to make as the goalkeeper of a newly-promoted side.

His price tag is also among the lowest of the expected starting goalkeepers, making him an appealing option if you're looking to save money between the posts.

Oliver Baumann, Hoffenheim – 9.25m

Although he didn't save any spot-kicks in the German top-flight last season, Baumann has established a reputation as a true penalty-killer. In fact, he ranks second all-time for penalty saves in the Bundesliga, behind only Rudi Kargus. This record, combined with his reputation as a reliable and consistent shot-stopper, makes him a goalkeeper worth considering.

Finn Dahmen, Augsburg – 9.46m

Dahmen was among the best-performing goalkeepers last season and one of the most consistent, too, thanks to his ability to make a good number of saves on a regular basis. That potential remains this season, making him an interesting option in the mid-range price bracket.

Premium options:

Gregor Kobel, Borussia Dortmund – 12.49m

With each clean sheet now providing goalkeepers with a significant points boost, Kobel certainly looks like one of the best premium options between the posts. The Switzerland international secured the most clean sheets in the Bundesliga last season (15) while also boasting the highest save percentage (72.4%). Had clean sheets counted towards the points tally last season, Kobel would have been the second-highest-scoring goalkeeper, according to the app's previous-season points filter – behind only Moritz Nicolas.

Moritz Nicolas, Gladbach – 13.92m

Nicolas was a key pick in goal last season and would have been the highest-scoring goalkeeper in the game by some margin if the current points system had been in place. His impressive tally was built on a combination of regular saves and the second-most clean sheets in the league (13). While his price tag is certainly steep this season, he remains an excellent premium option between the posts.
