Brentford has teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice throughout the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Best of the Bees

Keith Andrews’ side are one of just seven Premier League teams still unbeaten after Gameweek 4.

Kevin Schade (£6.1m) scored twice in Gameweek 4 to become the Bees’ top-scoring player in FPL this season. Only one midfielder has registered more FPL points, with Schade currently averaging 7.5 points per game.

Caoimhín Kelleher (£5.0m) made an impressive eight saves in Gameweek 4, earning two additional save points. Meanwhile, Mamadou Sangaré (£5.7m), Jannik Schuster (£4.5m) and Vitaly Janelt (£5.0m) all reached the defensive contribution threshold.

Midfielders need to make a combined total of 12 clearances, blocks, interceptions, tackles and ball recoveries to earn the additional two points. Defenders need to make 10 clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles.

As highlighted in last week’s preview, Janelt is currently joint-top in the Premier League for defensive contribution actions this season, with 55.

Kristoffer Ajer (£4.5m) and Jaidon Anthony (£5.9m) were both unlucky not to register the additional two defensive contribution points, with each missing their respective threshold by one action.

The Spotlight

Schade has made an impressive start to the 2026/27 Premier League season. The midfielder is Brentford’s highest-scoring FPL player and, on 30 points, is joint-second among midfielders in the game. He is also joint-seventh overall for FPL points.

Schade has scored three goals, earned one clean-sheet point and collected six bonus points so far this season.

During the 2025/26 season, Schade had 22 Opta-defined big chances and ranked second among FPL midfielders for non-penalty expected goals (NPxG, 11.39).

This season, he has already had 10 shots, two of which have been classified as big chances.

He has also created three chances for his team-mates in the opening four gameweeks.

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere, the only player to outscore Schade in Gameweek 4 was Brighton and Hove Albion’s Pascal Gross (£5.7m). The midfielder returned 17 points from a goal, two assists and maximum bonus against Coventry City.

Leeds United’s Jayden Bogle (£4.5m), like Schade, also scored 15 points in Gameweek 4. The defender scored and received maximum bonus. He was also substituted before Newcastle United scored, meaning he retained his four clean-sheet points.

Ipswich Town’s Leif Davis (£4.0m) and Arsenal’s David Raya (£6.0m) both registered 14 points in Gameweek 4. Davis scored and registered two assists, while Raya saved a penalty and kept a clean sheet.

In Demand

All Gameweek 5 transfers must be locked in by Friday’s 6.30pm BST deadline.

Joško Gvardiol (£5.7m) and Gross are both popular transfers in. The Manchester City defender has been bought by more than 340,000 managers after back-to-back clean sheets and an 11-point return in Gameweek 4, while Gross has gained more than 380,000 new owners.

Another popular purchase is Morgan Gibbs-White (£8.0m). Nottingham Forest face Coventry City in Gameweek 5 and Gibbs-White has set-piece responsibility. Almost 350,000 managers have transferred him in since the Gameweek 4 deadline.

Captaincy

Erling Haaland (£15.5m) and Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m) look set to be the most popular captaincy options in Gameweek 5.

Haaland has scored four times in the league since Gameweek 2, returning at least nine points in each of his last three outings. Manchester City host Sunderland.

Meanwhile, Fernandes faces 18th-placed Fulham.
