Leeds United boss Daniel Farke says he is eyeing more attacking reinforcements after Dominic Calvert-Lewin completes his move to the club.
The Leeds boss confirmed Calvert-Lewin is set to sign for the club on a free transfer after leaving Monday’s opponents Everton earlier this month.
“We have not officially announced it but it is more or less (done),” Farke said.
“From this afternoon he will be a member of our squad and we’re all pretty happy and delighted to have Dominic in a Leeds shirt.
“We spoke quite honestly and open about it, we still need (strengthening) in the full-back position but also in the offensive positions.
“Dominic is obviously a proven player at the Premier League level.
“We want to sign players, as a newly promoted side, to have performed already at the top level but that they are still at a good age and on their way up in their career and not already on the way down and these boxes are all ticked by Dominic.
“We don’t need to speak about his qualities. He has all the skills you would like your striker to have.”
Farke, however, says it is clear his squad still needs further attacking signings in order to boost their chances of staying in the Premier League.
“I think we need to strengthen our squad probably with one more full-back but especially also the offensive positons.
“Dominic is a first step and an important step for us of course but there’s still business to be done.”
He also says he will make a late decision on whether Jayden Bogle can feature against Everton, with the defender set to return to full team training on Friday.
“It will be a late decision with Jayden,” he said.
“He was part integrated into team training for the first time on Wednesday. This afternoon he will join us for the full training session for the first time and then it depends on how he reacts.”
