Daniel Farke says he will only address Mateo Joseph’s future once both competitions, the FA Cup and Premier League, are over and the club have achieved their aims, offering sympathy to the injured loanee, yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk reports.

Joseph’s season ended last month after an ACL injury on loan at Mallorca, with a lay-off expected to last several months. Farke said his full focus remains on the players at Leeds and the current task. He added that Leeds’ hopes and support are with Joseph and that proper rehabilitation with Mallorca is the priority.

The head coach previously disagreed with Joseph’s decision not to join last summer’s training camp in Germany, after the forward asked to return to Spain rather than feature on Leeds’ pre-season tours.

The 22-year-old made 19 league starts and 10 substitute appearances for Mallorca, scoring two goals and registering four assists. One set up the winner in a notable victory over Real Madrid in the final game before his injury.

Mallorca team-mates dedicated their win over Rayo Vallecano to him and former Leeds colleagues offered support online. Joseph later reflected on pausing the daily routine that defines him, accepting there will be good and difficult days, and on being patient while trusting the process.
