Two Iran players, Fatemeh Pasandideh and Atefeh Ramezanisadeh, who remained in Australia after the Women's Asian Cup having been granted asylum, trained with Brisbane Roar's A-League Women side on Monday.

The club welcomed the pair, and chief executive Kaz Patafta said they remain committed to providing a supportive environment as the players take their next steps.

The duo are the only members of the group to have ultimately stayed in Australia, with the others reversing course and returning to Iran.

Pasandideh and Ramezanisadeh are currently being housed at an undisclosed location.

Pasandideh also shared a photo on Instagram alongside Jill Ellis, the former United States women's national team coach, with a caption saying everything will be fine.
