Father & Son Dream Nears Reality: Cristiano Ronaldo Jr called up to Portugal U16

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr the son of Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo has earned his 1st call up to Portugal’s U16 national team bringing the dream of father and son duo wearing the same national shirt closer than ever.

Head coach Filipe Ramos named the 14 year old forward in 22 man squad for the Federation Cup , a youth tournament to be held in Turkey from 30 October to 4 November.

Portugal will face Turkey, Wales and England at the Emirhan Sports Center in Antalya.

From U15 debut to rapid promotion

Cristiano Jr's selection follows strong debut with Portugal’s U15s earlier this year where he scored 2 goal in 4 appearance during the May Development Tournament.

The Al Nassr academy prospect — 1 of only 2 player in the squad based outside Portugal continues his rapid rise and will now test himself against elite European opposition one age group higher.

Sporting CP dominate the current U16 roster with 7 player followed by Benfica (five) and Porto (four). Ronaldo Jr will represent Al Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club where his father currently plays and continues to break records.
