FC Bayern Women have signed Sophie Proost. The 19-year-old Dutchwoman joins Bayern from FC Twente and on a contract until 30 June 2029. The forward will wear the number 23 shirt.

Sophie Proost: “I’m very happy I’ve signed for FC Bayern. It’s a special honour that a club of this stature has placed its trust in me and gives me this chance.  It was an incredible moment when I heard about FC Bayern’s interest. Everything felt right from the start, so I knew immediately I wanted to come here. As a player, I see myself as very technically skilled, explosive and fast: I always want to attack, score goals and work hard for the team, support my teammates and improve every day. I’ll play with international top players here, I can learn an incredible lot from them. Together with the team, I want to keep improving and win as many titles as possible in the next few years.”

From Hilversum via Ajax to Enschede

Born in Hilversum on 11 March 2007, Proost learned the trade at BFC Bussum before joining Ajax Amsterdam’s youth academy. In the summer of 2024, Proost, who is versatile enough to play both in midfield and on the wing, took the next step when she joined FC Twente Women and gained valuable experience both on a national and an international level. She made her debut in the Vrouwen Eredivisie and the UEFA Women’s Champions League. In her first season, she won the Eredivisie, the KNVB Women’s Cup and the Women's Super Cup with Twente in 2024/25. The forward won the KNVB Women's Cup again last season. Proost has played for the Netherlands U15s, U16s, U17s and is currently part of the U19 squad.
