In a recent interview, Mostafa Mohamed launched a scathing attack on French coach Antoine Kombouaré.
Since joining FC Nantes in 2022, Mostafa Mohamed has worked under several managers with the Canaries. The Egyptian international revealed that Rui Vitoria and Luis Castro were the coaches he got along with best. But Mohamed made it clear that he didn't really like Antoine Kombouaré—and he didn't hold back.
"The reason I stayed at Nantes was because Luis Castro told me he trusted me and that we could help each other. Antoine Kombouaré is the worst coach I've ever had. He was the one who made me consider leaving. I told myself: if Kombouaré stays, I go. I'm someone who needs to feel trusted, and when Luis Castro arrived, I immediately felt he believed in me. So I decided to stay. You'll see, this year, FC Nantes won't be fighting to stay up but will be pushing for a European spot, because with this new coach, who really values his players and has a winning mentality, we can aim high." he said in an interview with Ouest France.
