FC Porto B have surged up II Liga after February returns of three wins and one draw, moving within one point of third place. O Jogo highlights a shift from a slow start and last season's survival fight.
Even the 2-2 with U. Leiria felt sweet, Porto B twice coming from behind before Bernardo Lima's first professional goal in the final action.
A 3-0 over Torreense underlined the youth drive. Bernardo Lima fed Mateus Mide, whose cross set up Duarte Cunha for his first goal after debuting against Académico de Viseu. All three are under-17 world champions, and Mide has scored this season.
Seventeen-year-old Eduardo Ferreira also debuted. Defender Dinis Rodrigues has played almost every minute since 21 December and reached six II Liga assists in February. Although Arsénio and Messeguem have one more, he is the highest-ranked full-back.
Winger André Miranda, 18, began the month with goals against Ac. Viseu and Leiria, then debuted for the first team versus Arouca, after Francesco Farioli twice named him on the Europa League bench.
Porto B lead the league's second half with 16 points from seven games, ahead of Ac. Viseu on 15 and Leixões on 14.
