FC Porto back fans after colours barred at Académico de Viseu | OneFootball

FC Porto have backed travelling supporters after hundreds were prevented from entering Académico de Viseu’s ground for wearing blue and white and holding tickets for the wrong sector.

In a social media post, the club said the symbol unites everyone, that their strength lies in unity, and that wearing blue and white is always a source of pride. The fourth-round I Liga match finished 3-0 to the visitors.

The home club remained firm in refusing access when colours were visible and tickets did not correspond to the visiting end.

Police from the PSP sought to defuse the situation and the league followed events through its delegates.

One child was blocked from entry and made to take off a Porto shirt.
