FC Porto did not vote against using VAR for corners

Frederico Varandas accused FC Porto of having voted against the proposal to use VAR for corner kicks, but that did not happen at the League’s recent General Assembly. The SAD led by André Villas-Boas voted in favor of the measure, since it had been put forward by IFAB [International Football Association Board]. Although the vote was secret, those linked to Porto made a point of making their intentions public.

The proposals submitted by Sporting were in fact rejected at the General Assembly, but in the case of using VAR for corner kicks, FC Porto did end up voting in favor.
