FC Porto recall Portuguese Cup win over… Torreense

After Torreense defeated Sporting 2-1 after extra time at Jamor last Sunday, in a historic triumph that made them the first second-division team to win the Portuguese Cup, FC Porto recalled how, exactly 70 years ago, they lifted the “queen of competitions”... precisely against the club from Torres Vedras.

On social media platform X, the Dragons remembered that, on May 27, 1956, under Brazilian coach Dorival Yustrich, they beat Torreense 2-0, also at Jamor, with Hernâni scoring both goals, thus lifting their first Portuguese Cup.
