FC Utrecht bring in Norwich defender on loan with a purchase option | OneFootball

Utrecht have announced the signing of Jakov Medic on loan until the end of the season. The 27-year-old joins on loan from Norwich with a purchase option included as part of the deal. Medic only joined Norwich last summer, yet he only made 18 appearances for the club and is now allowed to leave. For Utrecht, they bring in a player that does have some previous Eredivisie experience.

Prior to playing for Norwich, Medic spent most of his career in Germany after leaving his native Croatia in 2018. The defender first side for FC Nurnberg in 2018, but never made a first team appearance for the side. In 2019 he joined Wehen Wiesbaden on loan and eventually mad the move permanent. After 51 appearances and five goals for Wehen Wiesbaden, he left to join St Pauli. Over the course of two seasons he played 65 games for St Pauli, scoring eight goals. In 2023 he left Germany for the Netherlands and Ajax, but only managed nine appearances for the Amsterdam club. Medic joined Bochum on loan for the 2024/2025 season before moving to Norwich last summer.
