The sun over Munich, the Paulaner marquee buzzing with excitement and FC Bayern Women in the thick of it: on Wednesday afternoon, captain Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir, Giulia Gwinn and Co attended the Oktoberfest together. The players, coaching staff and management spent a few hours together socialising and enjoying the unique atmosphere of the Munich Wiesn.

Oktoberfest 2026: The photos from FC Bayern Women's traditional Wiesn visit.

The FCB Women headed to the Theresienwiese in proper dress and in fine spirits. Among the festively decorated tents, Bavarian treats and the bustling fun of the world’s largest folk festival, the focus was on one thing above all: the shared experience.

Time for community

There were laughter, stories and clinking of glasses. The Wiesn visit offered the players a welcome chance to spend time with each other away from the football pitch and nurture the special bond within the squad. In an intensive season with a high number of matches in the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League, such moments are particularly valuable. For a few hours, training, match preparation and competition were pushed into the background, replaced by good conversation, warm encounters and the joy of coming together as a team. Between dirndls, gingerbread hearts and the sound of festival music, many cheerful moments emerged – accompanied, of course, by the odd photo.

The German champions face several important assignments on the domestic and European stage in the coming weeks. Only on Tuesday evening, Bayern kicked off the new Champions League campaign with a 2-2 draw against Manchester City. The Munich girls don’t have much time to relax as they travel to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the first round of the DFB Cup on Sunday. Just a few days later, their next test in the Champions League awaits with the trip to Benfica next Wednesday. During their visit to Oktoberfest, therefore, the team also recharged their batteries before the focus returns fully to the next tasks on the pitch.
